Tiger grass or Amliso is a broom grass that is found in hilly regions of Nepal. The binomial name of this plant is Thysanolaena maxima. Amliso is a flowering plant and its flowers are used to make brooms or cleaning tool and grass is feed to domastic animals.  

A broom is a cleaning tool consisting of usually stiff fibers (often made of materials such as Amilso, plastic, hair, or corn husks) attached to, and roughly parallel to, a cylindrical handle, the broomstick. It is thus a variety of brush with a long handle.

This broom is made from Tiger grass. Tiger grass is a perennial grass, its tight clumping makes it good as a screener or feature plant.

Typical height: 2.5 to 3.5m

Climate: Prefers tropical or subtropical climates

Light conditions:  Full sun to part shade

Growth habit: Tight clumping, upright

Growing conditions: Moist, well drained soil. Keep well mulched
